
Actor from The Sopranos, Jerry Adler, Passes Away at 96
Actor Jerry Adler, known for his role as Herman 'Hesh' Rabkin in The Sopranos, has passed away at the age of 96.
Adler began his acting career in his 60s after a long tenure in Broadway behind the scenes. He worked with stars like Julie Andrews, Angela Lansbury, and Richard Burton during his more than three decades in the industry.
Representatives announced that Adler died peacefully in his sleep on Saturday. He started in the theater industry and later transitioned to TV, managing productions and winning several Tony Awards.
Adler's acting career took off after being cast in the 1992 film The Public Eye. He later appeared in films like Manhattan Murder Mystery and Getting Away with Murder before gaining fame for his role in The Sopranos.
In addition to The Sopranos, Adler had recurring roles in The Good Wife, The Good Fight, and Rescue Me. He also appeared in shows like Northern Exposure, Mad About You, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and The West Wing.
Adler returned to Broadway as an actor in plays like Taller than a Dwarf and Fish in the Dark, completing his career circle.
