All About the BBC

The BBC is an impartial and independent organization that produces high-quality programs and content for audiences in the UK and worldwide. It was established by a Royal Charter and is primarily funded through the license fee paid by UK households to fulfill its mission and promote its Public Purposes.

In addition to its core funding, the BBC generates revenue through commercial operations such as BBC Studios, a renowned production company and distributor. This additional income is used to invest in new programming and services for audiences in the UK.

The BBC's Board oversees the organization to ensure it meets its mission and public purposes outlined in the Charter. Day-to-day management is the responsibility of the Executive Committee, with regulation provided by Ofcom.
