Arsenal Beats Newcastle: Gyokeres Revealed, Dowman Shines

New Arsenal striker Viktor Gyokeres was presented to fans in Singapore before the pre-season match where Arsenal defeated Newcastle 3-2. Gyokeres recently joined Arsenal from Sporting in a deal worth up to £64m.

In the game, Anthony Elanga scored for Newcastle in the sixth minute, but Arsenal equalized through Mikel Merino in the 33rd minute. Shortly after, Arsenal took the lead when Alex Murphy scored an own goal.

Newcastle made nine changes at halftime, and Jacob Murphy scored to level the game. Arsenal secured the win with a penalty converted by Martin Odegaard, following a run by 15-year-old Max Dowman.

Arsenal will face Tottenham Hotspur in Hong Kong next, while Newcastle will play Team K League in South Korea.

The only concern for Arteta was Riccardo Calafiori's injury during the match. Meanwhile, Newcastle manager Eddie Howe addressed questions about Alexander Isak's future amid interest from Liverpool.

Elanga, another Swedish player, scored his first goal for Newcastle and was a positive aspect in their attack. Howe acknowledged the challenge of the transfer window and the need to strengthen the squad.
