Bengals' Ja'Marr Chase Scores Incredible 50th Career TD
Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase caught a touchdown pass from Joe Flacco in the fourth quarter of the team's NFL Week 6 game against the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field. This marked Chase's 50th career touchdown catch and his fourth of the season, making it his 10th catch of the game.
CBS analyst Trent Green questioned why the play was not called for defensive pass interference. Chase celebrated the touchdown with his signature "Griddy" dance.
Earlier in the year, Chase signed a four-year contract extension with the Bengals valued at $161 million. He was selected to the Pro Bowl for the fourth time in his NFL career in 2024.
In the same year, Chase achieved the receiving triple crown by leading the league in receptions, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns during the regular season. This accomplishment marked the fifth time a player has achieved this since 1970.
Throughout his first four seasons with the Bengals, Chase played in 62 games and started in 61 of them. In 2024, he set a Bengals' single-season record with 127 catches, ranking ninth in NFL history. He also set a franchise record with 1,708 receiving yards and tied Carl Pickens' single-season record with 17 touchdown catches.
Chase made history by becoming the first player in the NFL to reach over 1,700 receiving yards and 17 touchdown catches in a single season. In a game against the Dallas Cowboys, he had 14 catches for 177 yards and two touchdowns, surpassing 5,000 career receiving yards. Chase dedicated his first touchdown to cancer survivor Brixton Wood and playfully celebrated with teammate Joe Burrow by smashing a donut in his face after the victory.
