Blue Jays Take 2-0 Series Lead Over Yankees

The Toronto Blue Jays continued their winning streak by defeating the New York Yankees 13-7 in Game 2 of the American League Division Series. Rookie pitcher Trey Yesavage impressed with 5 1/3 no-hit innings, leading the Blue Jays to a 2-0 series lead. The Blue Jays can advance to the AL Championship Series with a win on Tuesday.

Yesavage caught the attention of Blue Jays manager John Schneider in June and has quickly risen through the ranks. In Sunday's game, the 22-year-old rookie recorded 11 strikeouts, setting a new record for Toronto pitchers in a playoff game.

Although the Yankees managed to score seven runs later in the game, it was not enough to overcome the Blue Jays' dominant performance. Yesavage's stellar pitching helped solidify his spot in the Blue Jays' rotation for future games.

On the other hand, the Yankees struggled as their starting pitcher Max Fried had a tough outing, allowing seven runs before being replaced. The Blue Jays' offense, led by players like Daulton Varsho and Vladimir Guerrero Jr., set a new record for the most runs scored by a team in their first two postseason games.

Despite facing challenges, the Yankees are looking to bounce back in the series. With an elimination game on Tuesday, they will need to regroup and come up with a new game plan to counter the Blue Jays' strong performance.
