Blue Jays Players Playfully Tease New York Yankees

The Toronto Blue Jays celebrated their victory over the New York Yankees in the American League Division Series, advancing to the American League Championship Series for the first time since 2016. The team played Frank Sinatra's "New York, New York" in the visiting clubhouse at Yankee Stadium after the win.

Manager John Schneider initiated the postgame celebration by quoting a famous lyric from the song, saying, “Start spreading the news!” The Blue Jays defeated the Yankees 5-2 in Game 4, ending New York's season and securing their spot in the AL Championship Series.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. played a significant role in the Blue Jays' victory, continuing his strong performance against the Yankees. Guerrero, who had previously made critical comments about the Yankees, including stating he would never play for them, showcased his skills during the series. Despite maintaining a neutral stance publicly, Guerrero expressed joy in the clubhouse celebration, even delivering a playful twist on a famous Yankees call during an interview with David Ortiz.

Guerrero's outstanding performance in the series included a .529 batting average, three home runs, and nine RBIs, contributing to the Blue Jays' success against the Yankees.
