Blue Jays shortstop Bo Bichette sidelined with knee injury
Toronto Blue Jays Shortstop Bo Bichette Placed on Injured List
The Toronto Blue Jays will be without their star shortstop, Bo Bichette, for the next 10 days as he was placed on the injured list due to a left knee sprain before the game against the Houston Astros. Bichette sustained the injury during a collision with New York Yankees catcher Austin Wells in a game at Yankee Stadium.
Manager John Schneider expressed disappointment at losing Bichette, who plays a crucial role in the team. There is no set timeline for Bichette's return, and he will not be participating in baseball activities this week. After experiencing increased soreness following the collision, Bichette underwent an MRI which confirmed the knee sprain.
Bichette has been a key player for the Blue Jays in September, boasting impressive stats in the final month of the season. With Bichette sidelined, outfielder Joey Loperfido has been called up to replace him on the roster. In Bichette's absence, Ernie Clement and Isiah Kiner-Falefa will be filling in at shortstop as the team continues its push for a postseason spot and an AL East title.
