After Manchester United's defeat by Grimsby Town in the EFL Cup, their troubles continued on Wednesday night. Ahead of the Champions League group stage draw, Bayer Leverkusen, managed by former United boss Erik ten Hag, mocked United on social media, expressing relief at not drawing Grimsby.

United will not participate in European competitions this season after finishing 15th in the Premier League in 2024-25 and losing in the Europa League final to Tottenham.
