Celebrities Shine at Ballon d'Or Event in Paris
The football world's elite gathered on the red carpet in Paris for the prestigious Ballon d'Or ceremony. Lamine Yamal, a top contender for the award, arrived first, followed by PSG's Ousmane Dembele and Diogo Jota's widow, Rute Cardoso.
Virgil van Dijk, Liverpool's captain, also attended the event with his wife, along with Alisson, Arne Slot, and Sarina Wiegman. Lionesses Chloe Kelly, Alessia Russo, and Leah Williamson posed with their Arsenal teammates, all ranking in the top 10 for the Ballon d'Or Féminin.
Popular broadcaster Kate Scott shone in a silver dress on the red carpet. The top 10 for the men's prize includes Dembele, Yamal, and Salah, among others. The rankings were gradually revealed, with Erling Haaland at 26th place, followed by Declan Rice and Van Dijk.
Real Madrid's Jude Bellingham ranked 23rd, Viktor Gyokeres claimed 15th, and Harry Kane placed 13th. LaLiga giants boycotted the ceremony due to a rift with organizers after last year's award controversy.
France Football's editor-in-chief, Vincent Garcia, the only one who knows the winner, explained the selection criteria based on individual brilliance, performances, trophies, and conduct. The winner is chosen by an international jury of journalists from FIFA-ranked countries through a vote.
