Comedian Shane Gillis Jokes About Caitlin Clark at ESPYs

FOX Nation’s ‘Who Can Forget? The ‘90s’ revisited the start of the WNBA, suggesting that rising star Caitlin Clark could boost the league's success after thirty years.

Comedian Shane Gillis hosted the ESPYs and made a controversial comment about Indiana Fever player Caitlin Clark during his opening monologue. Gillis, known for his role in the Netflix series "Tires," also targeted other sports personalities like Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Shedeur Sanders.

During the event, Gillis joked about Clark's future after her WNBA career, implying she would work at a Waffle House to continue fighting Black women. Clark was absent from the ESPYs as she was recovering from an injury sustained during a recent game against the Connecticut Sun.

Clark, who was expected to participate in the All-Star game and the 3-point shooting contest, suffered a groin injury in a game against the Sun in Boston. The Fever's head coach, Stephanie White, confirmed that Clark would not play in the upcoming game and stated that discussions about her availability for future games were ongoing.

White clarified that Clark's current injury was not a reinjury but a new issue. Clark had previously missed games due to a quad injury and a left groin strain. The team is monitoring her condition closely to determine the next steps.
