Comedian Shane Gillis Mocks Trump and Epstein in ESPYs Monologue

Comedian Shane Gillis hosted ESPN's Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly Awards, making his debut at the event. During the 2025 ESPY Awards, Gillis delivered a monologue targeting President Donald Trump and the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Gillis joked about Trump's immigration policy and the Capitol attack on January 6, 2021. He also mentioned an Epstein joke that was supposedly deleted, making light of the controversy surrounding Trump's association with Epstein.

Gillis' appearance at the ESPYs marked a comeback in his career after being fired from Saturday Night Live in 2019 due to resurfaced clips of him making offensive jokes. He has since returned to host SNL twice and was announced as the host of the 2025 ESPY Awards.

The ESPYs, organized by ESPN, aim to raise awareness and funds for the V Foundation for Cancer Research. The event honors top athletes and memorable sports moments. Notable winners at the 2025 ESPY Awards included Simone Biles, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Caitlin Clark, the Philadelphia Eagles, Shohei Otani, and Coco Gauff.
