Cowboys QB's Fate Revealed After Spitting Incident
Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott will not face any further punishment following an incident during Week 1 against the Philadelphia Eagles, as reported by ESPN's Adam Schefter.
During the opening game of the NFL season, footage showed Prescott spitting on the ground before the first play, near injured fullback Ben VanSumeren, who was later taken off the field.
Philadelphia pass rusher Jalen Carter took offense at Prescott's actions, confronting him and later spitting back at him, deeming Prescott's behavior as 'hostile'.
Carter was flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct and ejected from the game for spitting at Prescott, while the league fined him $57,222, equivalent to his weekly game check.
Despite Carter's absence, the Eagles still triumphed over the Cowboys with a score of 24-20 in their season opener. Prescott had 21 completions for 188 yards during the game and managed to avoid being sacked.
The Cowboys are scheduled to play their first home game of the season against the New York Giants this Sunday.
