Crystal Palace prepares backup plan for Marc Guehi amid Liverpool's attention

Crystal Palace is considering Jeremy Jacquet from Rennes as a potential replacement if Marc Guehi moves to Liverpool, though the transfer is uncertain due to a difference in valuation.

Palace is willing to sell Guehi this summer as his contract expires next year, but there is a £10 million gap in valuation between Palace and Liverpool. While Liverpool is offering £35 million, Palace is holding out for £45 million.

Rennes values Jacquet at £35 million. The 20-year-old player, hailing from the Bondy area in Paris known for producing talents like Kylian Mbappe, was a standout in the under-19 European Championship last year and had a successful loan spell at Clermont.

Guehi and Eberechi Eze, who is attracting interest from Tottenham, both played in Crystal Palace's recent Premier League match against Chelsea. Manager Oliver Glasner emphasized their commitment to the club amid transfer speculations.

Glasner praised the players' dedication, stating that as long as they remain fully committed, they will continue to play due to their talent and character. He highlighted their professionalism on and off the field, expressing his satisfaction with their performances and attitudes.
