Liverpool Star's Emotional Farewell Before Tragic Crash

Footballer Diogo Jota's Tragic Death

Footballer Diogo Jota passed away in a car crash at the age of 28. His final social media post was published less than 24 hours prior to the incident.

Jota was travelling in northern Spain with his brother Andre, also a footballer, who is feared dead. The crash occurred on the A-52 highway in the Zamora province.

The Portuguese Football Federation confirmed the deaths of Diogo Jota and Andre Silva. Head of the federation, Pedro Proenca, expressed deepest condolences to the families and friends of the players, as well as their clubs, Liverpool FC and FC Penafiel.

Jota was a prominent player for Liverpool, making over 100 appearances and winning the Premier League title last season. He was also a regular for the Portuguese national team, with 48 international appearances.

His final Instagram post featured a video of him and his wife, Rute Cardoso, exchanging vows during their wedding ceremony in Porto two weeks prior. The caption read, "A day we will never forget."
