Dallas Cowboys Trade Micah Parsons to Green Bay Packers

Micah Parsons has been traded from the Dallas Cowboys to the Green Bay Packers in a significant deal just before the new NFL season begins. The defensive end will sign a four-year, $188 million contract with the Packers, making him the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history at $47 million per year, as reported by NFL Network.

As part of the trade, the Cowboys will receive two first-round draft picks and three-time Pro Bowler Kenny Clark. This move resolves a contract dispute between Parsons and Dallas that had been ongoing over the summer.

In a statement, Parsons expressed his feelings about the move to the Packers, acknowledging his attachment to Dallas but accepting the change. He highlighted the positive memories he had with the Cowboys and the gratitude he felt towards his teammates, coaches, and staff.

Parsons, who has achieved four Pro Bowls and two All-Pro honors with the Cowboys since joining in 2021, was entering the final year of his rookie contract this season. Earlier this month, he had indicated his desire to no longer play for the Cowboys.

The Packers are set to play the Detroit Lions in their season opener at Lambeau Field on September 7 and will face the Cowboys in week four.
