Defender for Rams benched due to illness linked to Philly cheesesteak.
The Los Angeles Rams will be without outside linebacker Nick Hampton in the game against the Philadelphia Eagles due to an illness. Hampton was added to the injury report on Saturday and initially listed as questionable, but was later ruled out.
Although the Rams did not disclose the specifics of Hampton's illness, he shared on Instagram that he had food poisoning from eating a cheesesteak in Philadelphia. Hampton's Instagram post included a photo of a hospital room with a caption mentioning the incident.
Hampton, who is the fourth edge rusher on the team's depth chart, played limited snaps in the previous two games, providing depth behind the top three edge rushers: Jared Verse, Byron Young, and Josaiah Stewart.
The Rams did not promote any players from the practice squad, leaving them with only three healthy edge rushers available for the game against the Eagles.
