Doc Rivers enjoyed a diet soda near a golf course in Los Angeles on Monday. He mentioned having his first official dinner with Paul George and Kawhi Leonard, expressing excitement about the Clippers signing the two NBA stars.

Before meeting the players, Rivers spoke at an event organized by Westcoast Sports Associates, a nonprofit supporting underprivileged children in Southern California to engage in sports. He shared about his daughter's recent wedding to Seth Curry and the expenses incurred.

The Clippers are planning to invest around $100 million in benefits for Inglewood as part of their arena construction proposal. Rivers celebrated the team's success in acquiring Leonard and George, making them strong contenders for the NBA championship.

The Clippers' efforts to attract Leonard began a year ago, with team representatives attending Raptors games to show interest. Despite competition from other teams, Leonard eventually chose the Clippers, emphasizing the need for a competitive team to join.

Rivers recalled the negotiations with Leonard and the Clippers' successful trade for George, involving multiple draft picks and players. The deal faced uncertainties but eventually went through, securing both players for the team.

Although the Clippers faced challenges during the trade process, including moments when the deal seemed off, they ultimately succeeded in acquiring Leonard and George. Rivers acknowledged the importance of their summer acquisitions but emphasized the need to perform well in the upcoming season to achieve their goals.
