Dodgers Lose No-Hit Bid to Orioles in Final Out

Los Angeles Dodgers Suffer Heartbreaking Loss to Baltimore Orioles

The Los Angeles Dodgers were close to making history with a win but ended up facing a devastating loss against the Baltimore Orioles. Japanese pitcher Yoshinobu Yamamoto was just one out away from securing a no-hitter and a 3-0 victory for the World Series champions when Jackson Holliday hit a solo home run. Yamamoto was replaced after this and received applause from both sets of fans as Blake Trienen took over. The major leagues have yet to see a no-hitter in 2025.

However, Trienen couldn't secure the final out, and with the bases loaded, Orioles' third baseman Emmanuel Rivera sealed the victory with a two-run single from Tanner Scott, leading to a 3-2 win for Baltimore.

The Baltimore Orioles, who were close to being no-hit and were trailing by three runs, managed to turn the game around and celebrate a remarkable victory. Trienen took responsibility for the Dodgers' loss as he allowed a double, hit a batter, and walked two players, allowing the Orioles to take the lead.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto, who almost achieved a no-hitter for the Dodgers, had joined the team the previous season after signing a $325 million, 12-year contract in December 2023. Despite the loss, the Dodgers maintain a slim lead in the National League West over the San Diego Padres. However, this defeat marks the Dodgers' fifth consecutive loss as the regular season nears its end.
