Dodgers reach NLCS in thrilling Game 4 against Phillies
The Los Angeles Dodgers won against the Philadelphia Phillies in Game 4 of the National League Division Series on Thursday night after an 11-inning game. In the bottom of the 11th inning, with the bases loaded and two outs, Dodgers' Andy Pages hit a grounder to Phillies reliever Orion Kerkering. Kerkering struggled to field the ball and made a high throw to catcher J.T. Realmuto, allowing Hyeseong Kim to score the game-winning run.
The victory kept the Dodgers' World Series title defense alive. Phillies players were seen consoling Kerkering in disbelief in the dugout after the game. Philadelphia had taken the lead in the seventh inning when Nick Castellanos doubled and Max Kepler scored.
In a crucial moment, Dodgers' Mookie Betts was walked by Cristopher Sanchez, allowing Justin Dean to score and tie the game. Roki Sasaki, a rookie pitcher from Japan, delivered three scoreless innings for the Dodgers, striking out two on 36 pitches.
Sasaki's pitching performance, combined with solid team play, helped the Dodgers secure the win and advance in the series. Ryan Gaydos is a senior editor for Fox News Digital.
