Eberechi Eze, who scored 20 goals in 112 appearances for Queens Park Rangers before moving to Crystal Palace, is set to join Arsenal for £60m. The Gunners have reached a preliminary agreement to sign the forward from Crystal Palace.

Sources indicate that Eze prefers a move to Arsenal, where he began his youth career, over Tottenham, despite talks with the latter club. A deal between Spurs and Eze had been in progress for 10 days but was not finalized.

Arsenal's offer for Eze includes £8m in add-ons. The Gunners are interested in Eze as a potential replacement for the injured Kai Havertz, providing Mikel Arteta with a new attacking option.

Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner confirmed that Eze will play in Thursday's match against Fredrikstad, along with Marc Guehi, amid rumors of interest from Liverpool. Eze aims to complete the move to Arsenal before the transfer window closes on 1 September.

Eze, who had a goal disallowed in Palace's recent game against Chelsea, has an expired release clause in his contract valued at £60m plus add-ons. His contributions, including 14 goals last season and a goal in the FA Cup final, have been significant for Palace.

Having joined Palace from Queens Park Rangers for £19.5m in 2020, Eze's current contract extends until 2027. If Arsenal secures his signing over Tottenham, it would be a notable moment in the transfer window. Spurs, who had been pursuing Eze, now face disappointment with his potential move to Arsenal.
