Family farm in Staffordshire to transform shop into padel tennis court.

Plans have been proposed for padel tennis courts near a new farm shop at Bradshaws Farm in Perton near Wolverhampton. The fourth-generation family farm plans include demolishing the existing farm shop to make way for the courts.

The Lawn Tennis Association supports the proposal, citing unmet demand for the development. The farm owners believe diversification is necessary for survival due to financial pressures on the farming industry. South Staffordshire Council is reviewing the plans, which include over 50 parking spaces and a clubhouse.

The project involves replacing the current farm shop with a modern, energy-efficient building that fits the rural setting. The redevelopment will feature four padel tennis courts and a clubhouse, aiming to create local job opportunities.
