Footage Shows Hamas Executing 'Israeli Collaborators' in Gaza
Hamas Militants Execute Three Palestinians Accused of Collaboration
Hamas militants executed three Palestinians in Gaza, accusing them of being 'Israeli collaborators'. The public execution was filmed and shared on Hamas-linked Telegram accounts. The victims, blindfolded and with their arms tied, were shot by armed and masked gunmen in a town square. The crowd present chanted 'Allahu Akbar' during the execution.
The gunmen described the victims as traitors who collaborated with Israel to harm their own people. Handwritten notes were found on the bodies, warning of severe consequences for betrayal. Two other terrorist groups, Islamic Jihad and the Mujahideen Brigades, were reported to have participated in the execution.
Following the execution, the UK, Australia, and Canada recognized a Palestinian state. UK's Sir Keir Starmer stated the recognition aimed to support peace and a two-state solution. In response, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu criticized the move, calling it a reward for terrorism and rejecting the establishment of a Palestinian state.
Amid escalating tensions, the UN accused Israel of genocide against Palestinians, leading to mass casualties and destruction in Gaza. The Hamas-run health ministry reported numerous deaths and injuries in Israeli attacks. Despite denials from Israel, the UN highlighted the dire humanitarian crisis in Gaza, with widespread destruction and displacement of civilians.
A hostage, Alon Ohel, abducted by Palestinian militants in 2023, appeared in a video released by Hamas. Ohel urged for his release and that of other captives, appealing to Prime Minister Netanyahu. The video, shared by the Ezzedine Al-Qassam Brigades, showed Ohel alongside a militant, emphasizing the ongoing hostage situation in Gaza.
The situation remains tense, with ongoing violence and hostage crises in the region. International recognition of Palestinian statehood and condemnations of violence continue to shape the conflict dynamics in the Middle East.
