Former Cowboys RB Warns Team After Stellar Performance with Panthers: 'Get Ready'

FOX NFL broadcaster Greg Olsen discussed Bryce Young's 2025 season with the Carolina Panthers in an interview with Fox News Digital.

Carolina Panthers running back Rico Dowdle had a standout game against the Miami Dolphins, rushing for 206 yards on 23 carries and scoring a touchdown. The Panthers, now 2-3 for the season, are gearing up to face the Dallas Cowboys in Week 6.

Dowdle, in his fifth year, issued a warning to his former team, the Cowboys, stating, "They got to buckle up. I think they know for sure. They didn't keep me there for five years for no reason."

In response to Dowdle's warning, Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer said, "It'll be good to see Rico this weekend. I know we're gonna have to buckle up, he said. We'll bring our seatbelts, Rico. We'll buckle up. Can't wait to see him though."

Dowdle, who joined the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent in 2020, made a strong comeback in 2022 after missing the 2021 season due to injury. In 2024, he ran for 1,079 yards on 235 carries and scored two touchdowns.

Despite expectations to share playing time with Chuba Hubbard, Dowdle has taken the lead due to Hubbard's injuries, showcasing his skills for the Panthers.
