Mark Sanchez, 38, was arrested in the hospital following an alleged stabbing in the chest. He was taken to the hospital with critical injuries on Saturday morning after reportedly being stabbed during a dispute with a food delivery driver around 12:30 am. Sanchez is said to be in stable condition.

Indianapolis police arrested Sanchez for battery with injury, unlawful entry of a motor vehicle, and public intoxication after it was claimed that the delivery driver acted in self-defense. Sanchez remains in the hospital and has not been booked into jail yet.

Sanchez, a former Jets quarterback, was in Indianapolis to cover Sunday's NFL game between the Colts and Raiders for Fox Sports. The incident involved injuries consistent with stab wounds to Sanchez and significant injuries to the other man involved.

According to reports, Sanchez was allegedly stabbed during a dispute with a food delivery driver at Loughmiller's Pub & Eatery in downtown Indianapolis. The delivery driver claimed that Sanchez threatened, followed, and attacked him, leading to the driver defending himself with a knife.

In response to the incident, Chief Chris Bailey of the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department commended the professionalism of the officers involved. Fox Sports issued a statement expressing gratitude for the medical team's care of Sanchez and requested privacy for him and his family.

Sanchez, who is married to actress Perry Mattfield, is now recovering in stable condition. He has two children with his wife and an eight-year-old son from a previous relationship. Sanchez played 10 seasons in the NFL, primarily with the Jets, and received well-wishes from former teammates and colleagues following the news of the alleged stabbing.
