Fox News Throws Easy Questions at Leavitt After WSJ Ban

Moments after the Wall Street Journal was banned from the White House travel press pool, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt faced questions about Hunter Biden on the WSJ's sister network.

The Wall Street Journal was removed from the press pool following a report about Donald Trump's alleged birthday letter to Jeffrey Epstein. Trump filed a $10 billion lawsuit against the WSJ, its parent company News Corp, and owner Rupert Murdoch. The lawsuit claims the reported birthday card with a suggestive drawing is fake.

Despite the lawsuit, Fox News, also owned by Murdoch, has mostly avoided reporting on the WSJ's story and the lawsuit. The White House later removed WSJ reporters from covering the president's upcoming trip to Scotland.

Leavitt defended the decision, stating that the WSJ's conduct was fake and defamatory. This action is similar to the ban on Associated Press journalists after a disagreement over naming the Gulf of Mexico. Leavitt also took control of pool rotation assignments from the White House Correspondents' Association.

During an interview on Fox News, Leavitt faced questions about Hunter Biden and other topics, avoiding discussion on the WSJ ban and lawsuit. The focus shifted to Hunter Biden's recent podcast appearance and his comments on immigration. Fox News has been criticized for not defending the WSJ or Trump in this situation.
