Gaza flotilla: Greta Thunberg, activists deported by Israel

Around 450 people were arrested when Israeli forces intercepted the Global Sumud Flotilla. Greta Thunberg and 170 others were deported from Israel after their vessels were stopped in the Mediterranean. They were deported to Greece and Slovakia.

Israel's foreign ministry shared images of the deportees, including Thunberg, at the airport before their deportation. Activists reported mistreatment by Israeli guards, which Israel's foreign ministry denied, calling it "complete lies."

Protests erupted globally after over 400 activists were prevented from delivering aid to Gaza on the flotilla. The deported individuals are citizens of various countries, including the UK, US, France, and Germany, according to Israel.

Several activists, including Brits, were deported after being detained by Israeli forces. Evie Snedker and journalist Kieran Andrieu were among those seen arriving at an airport. World leaders and human rights groups have criticized Israel's actions.

The legality of the Gaza aid flotilla under international law is disputed. Activists claim it is lawful, while Israel denies this. Adalah, lawyers for the activists, detailed mistreatment faced by detainees at the hands of Israeli authorities.

Israel has refuted the mistreatment claims and stated that detainees are treated according to international standards. Far-right national security minister Itamar Ben Gvir celebrated the harsh conditions of some detainees.
