Infowars Host Storms Out Amid MAGA Civil War

Owen Shroyer, host of the War Room at Alex Jones' Infowars, announced on Monday that he is leaving the company due to disagreements with Jones over Donald Trump. Shroyer mentioned that Jones criticized him for being too negative and anti-Trump, leading to clashes between them. Shroyer expressed feeling restricted creatively and decided to take time off after reaching a breaking point during a live broadcast. Despite having creative control over the show, he felt constantly monitored and decided to part ways with Infowars.

Following a meeting with Jones, Shroyer stated that Jones informed him he was no longer needed and wished him luck. Shroyer revealed that he had not received a raise since 2018 and was struggling financially. His departure coincides with tensions within the Republican party regarding Trump's actions related to issues such as the Jeffrey Epstein investigation and Middle East policies. Shroyer, who joined Infowars in 2016, has been critical of Trump's handling of these matters.

Shroyer, who began working for Infowars in 2016 during Trump's presidency, has been known for his controversial statements. He was involved in a legal case in 2021 related to the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting and served a two-month prison sentence in 2023 for his involvement in the events surrounding the January 6 attack on the US Capitol. Despite his departure, Jones remains a staunch supporter of Trump and continues to defend him on Infowars.

Shroyer's exit from Infowars marks the end of his tenure as the first host of the War Room in 2017. He gained recognition as one of the prominent figures at Infowars, sharing conspiracy theories and controversial views. Prosecutors have accused Shroyer of contributing to the events of January 6 by spreading misinformation and making suggestive remarks to viewers. Shroyer's departure from Infowars signifies the culmination of his time at the company, which has been marked by controversies and clashes over political viewpoints.
