Everton Secure Branthwaite for Five Years
Everton Defender Jarrad Branthwaite Signs New Deal
Everton defender Jarrad Branthwaite has agreed to a new five-year contract with the club. The 23-year-old joined Everton from Carlisle United in January 2020.
Branthwaite's previous contract was set to expire in 2027. During the summer transfer window, he received two rejected bids from Manchester United and also attracted interest from Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur.
However, Everton decided to keep Branthwaite due to his importance to their plans for the future. The club is relocating from Goodison Park to the new Hill Dickinson Stadium.
"I'm over the moon to sign this new deal," Branthwaite said. "It's something we've been discussing since the end of last season, and I'm thrilled to finally get it done."
The defender has made 75 Premier League appearances for Everton and has played 86 times overall for the club. He helped the team finish 13th in the league last season.
Manager David Moyes expressed his delight at Branthwaite's commitment to the club. "We're delighted Jarrad has committed his future to us," he said. "He is still young and has many great years ahead of him."
