Jesús Made Triples in Debut as Shuckers Dominate

The 18-year-old Milwaukee Brewers prospect Jesús Made had a successful debut in Class AA baseball. Made became the youngest player to join the Biloxi Shuckers franchise and contributed by hitting a triple to center field, bringing in two runs and helping his team secure a 9-4 victory over Birmingham. Another player, Blake Burke, hit a three-run homer in the game.

In addition to his triple, Made had another hit and a strikeout in five at-bats while playing second base. Shortstop Cooper Pratt, another promising prospect, finished the game with two walks and an RBI. The Biloxi team, which is gearing up for the Southern League playoffs, boasts a lineup filled with talented prospects like Luke Adams, Brock Wilken, Burke, and Luis Lara.

Pitcher Bishop Letson, a top-10 prospect aged 20, is set to join Biloxi for the remaining games and the upcoming playoffs starting on September 16 against the Montgomery Biscuits. Letson, who had been dealing with injuries, had an impressive 1.69 ERA in 37 innings over 10 games with the Advanced Class A Wisconsin Timber Rattlers.

Burke, a 2024 Competitive Balance-A pick, has shown significant improvement in his first full season with the organization. After batting .289 with five homers in Wisconsin, he has hit nine homers in just 124 at-bats in Biloxi, boasting a .956 OPS and a .306 batting average with 30 RBIs in 33 games. Made, with 60 RBIs across 111 games in the minor leagues this year, has displayed his talent with six homers, 28 doubles, 45 stolen bases, and an .804 OPS at just 18 years old.
