Jets training camp: Justin Fields carted off with leg injury

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. — New York Jets quarterback Justin Fields was carted off the training camp field on Thursday after injuring his toe on his right foot during practice. Fields left the field with a limp and was later taken to the locker room for further evaluation.

Head coach Aaron Glenn stated that the severity of Fields' injury is not yet known. A team doctor updated general manager Darren Mougey on the situation as Fields was being escorted off the field.

In Fields' absence, veteran Tyrod Taylor serves as the Jets' backup quarterback. Other options include Adrian Martinez and undrafted rookie Brady Cook, neither of whom have NFL game experience.
