Justin Timberlake Diagnosed with Lyme Disease
Justin Timberlake has disclosed that he is living with Lyme disease. The 44-year-old singer shared his diagnosis on Instagram after completing his Forget Tomorrow world tour. Lyme disease is a bacterial infection transmitted by ticks, and some individuals can experience symptoms like fatigue and aches for an extended period.
Timberlake revealed that he was surprised by the diagnosis, which explained his nerve pain and fatigue during performances. Despite considering ending his tour early, he decided to continue. He emphasized the challenges of living with Lyme disease, both physically and mentally.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), patients treated early for Lyme disease typically recover fully. However, those treated in later stages may experience long-term nervous system or joint damage. Other singers like Justin Bieber, Shania Twain, and Avril Lavigne have also battled Lyme disease.
Timberlake expressed gratitude for the support during his tour and highlighted the importance of transparency about his health struggles. He acknowledged the special moments shared with fans and the joy of performing, despite facing criticism on social media for his performances.
In addition to his health battle, Timberlake recently pleaded guilty to driving while impaired in a plea deal. He has also faced scrutiny over his past relationship with Britney Spears, as revealed in her memoir and a documentary. Timberlake, known for his music career and multiple Grammy wins, is married to actress Jessica Biel.
