Lauren Sanchez carries black Birkin in NYC after losing $10M bid for Jane Birkin's original Hermes bag

Lauren Sanchez and Jeff Bezos in New York City

Lauren Sanchez was seen with her husband Jeff Bezos in New York City over the weekend. The couple, who recently got married in Venice, appeared together after attending an extravagant wedding. Sanchez was spotted carrying a black Birkin bag, following rumors that she missed out on the original Birkin bag at a Sotheby's auction in Paris.

Sanchez, 55, wore black fitted leggings and a white workout jacket during the outing. She completed her look with white sneakers, a blue printed cap, and fashionable shades. Bezos, who recently showed off new hair growth, opted for a casual outfit with blue denim jeans and a black shirt. The couple was seen heading to their next destination with Bezos carrying a brown leather bag.

The original Birkin bag, designed in 1984 for model Jane Birkin, was auctioned at Sotheby's in Paris for a record-breaking $10.1 million to a private collector from Japan. Reports suggested that celebrities like Sanchez and Kris Jenner were interested in bidding for the bag, but it is not confirmed. The bidding for the black Birkin bag, featuring Jane Birkin's initials, started at over $1 million and lasted for 10 minutes.

Sanchez and Bezos tied the knot in a lavish three-day wedding in Venice last month. The star-studded event included guests like Kim Kardashian, Tom Brady, Sydney Sweeney, and Orlando Bloom. Sanchez wore a custom Dolce & Gabbana dress with intricate lace details for the ceremony. Recently, Sanchez was seen enjoying a night out in Paris with friends, wearing a red leather minidress and carrying a black Birkin bag.

Sanchez later attended the Balenciaga Haute Couture runway show during Paris Fashion Week and the Allen and Company Sun Valley Media and Tech Conference in Sun Valley, Idaho. At the conference, she was seen alongside Bezos and other notable guests like Candice Bergen, Gayle King, Disney CEO Bob Iger, and YouTube CEO Neal Mohan. The annual event, known as the 'summer camp for billionaires,' has been held since 1983.
