Leeds United Break Premier League Spending Record with Noah Okafor Signing

Leeds United have signed Switzerland striker Noah Okafor from AC Milan for £18m, bringing Premier League clubs' total spending this summer to a record £2.37bn. Okafor, 25, has signed a four-year deal with Leeds, becoming their ninth summer signing following their promotion to the Premier League.

Okafor expressed his excitement about playing in the Premier League, stating that it has been a dream of his since childhood. He mentioned that his style of play suits the intensity of the league and he is looking forward to stepping onto the field.

Prior to joining Leeds, Okafor played for Basel and RB Salzburg before moving to AC Milan in 2023. He scored seven goals in 54 games for Milan and spent the last season on loan at Napoli. Okafor has primarily played as a substitute since moving to Italy two years ago.

Known for his speed and direct style of play, Okafor has been described as a quick player who averaged 4.2 dribbles per 90 minutes last season. His arrival at Leeds adds to the club's trend of signing taller players, with Okafor standing at 6ft 1in.

Leeds' signing of Okafor contributes to the Premier League clubs' record spending this summer, with six clubs breaking their transfer records. The total spent by Premier League clubs this summer now stands at £2.37bn, with several high-profile signings contributing to the record-breaking figures.
