Neil Young to Headline Glastonbury Festival

Neil Young, the legendary folk-rock musician, has finally confirmed his headlining appearance at the Glastonbury Festival in the United Kingdom. This comes after he withdrew from the lineup earlier this week due to alleged BBC influence.

The controversy began when Young accused the BBC of attempting to control Glastonbury by forcing the festival to adhere to their preferences. He did not elaborate on the specific demands made. This announcement sparked widespread speculation about the nature of the alleged control.

Emily Eavis, Glastonbury's organiser, expressed her delight at Young's return, stating, "Neil Young is an artist we hold close to our hearts at Glastonbury. He does things his own way and that's why we love him. We are thrilled to welcome him back to headline the Pyramid Stage in June."

The Glastonbury Festival, running from June 25th to 29th, is a highly anticipated event after its hiatus in 2026. Ticket sales for the 2025 festival were sold out in just 35 minutes, costing £373.50 per ticket plus a £5 booking fee.

Other notable performers at the festival include Rod Stewart and established acts like Coldplay, Dua Lipa, and SZA.
