Lions outsmart Bears with Jameson Williams 44-Yard TD: Watch video
Jameson Williams scored a 44-yard touchdown against the Bears on Sunday. The Lions' offense executed a strategic play that they had been setting up throughout the game.
In the first half, a key play occurred with three minutes remaining in the first quarter. Amon-Ra St. Brown and Sam LaPorta were positioned closely together on the left side of the formation. LaPorta ran an over route, drawing the defender, while St. Brown made a reception in the created opening.
In another play in the early second quarter, St. Brown and Williams lined up on the right side. Williams ran a route to create space for St. Brown, but the Bears' cornerback intercepted the pass.
The highlight of the game was Williams' touchdown. The Lions used a double post concept to outsmart the Bears' coverage, allowing Williams to score untouched.
