Logano Secures Last Spot in NASCAR Playoffs as van Gisbergen Triumphs

Shane van Gisbergen won the Bank of America Roval 400 at Charlotte Motor Speedway, marking his fifth victory of the season in the NASCAR Cup Series. Despite efforts from Kyle Larson and Christopher Bell, van Gisbergen maintained his lead throughout the race, finishing 15.160 seconds ahead of Larson after 109 laps on the road-course circuit.

In the playoff race, drivers vied for positions to advance to the next round, with Ryan Blaney and Chase Elliott already securing spots in the Round of 8. Larson and Bell had also secured berths before the race ended. Other drivers like Denny Hamlin and William Byron aimed for clean finishes to advance, while Tyler Reddick, Bubba Wallace, Ross Chastain, and Joey Logano raced in must-win situations.

Joey Logano secured the final spot in the Round of 8 after a close battle with Ross Chastain in the final stage of the race. Chastain's attempt to maintain his lead over Logano ended in contact with Denny Hamlin, resulting in Logano advancing along with other drivers to the next round.

The NASCAR Cup Series will move to Las Vegas Motor Speedway for the Round of 8, followed by Talladega Superspeedway and Martinsville Speedway for the final elimination race.

Kyle Larson, Christopher Bell, Denny Hamlin, William Byron, Chase Briscoe, and Joey Logano advanced to the third round of the NASCAR Cup Series playoffs, joining Ryan Blaney and Chase Elliott. Hendrick Motorsports and Joe Gibbs Racing each have three drivers in the Round of 8, while Team Penske has two drivers remaining in the championship chase.

In a dramatic battle for the final spot in the Round of 8, Joey Logano edged out Ross Chastain in the Bank of America Roval 400, leading to the elimination of Chastain, Tyler Reddick, Bubba Wallace, and Austin Cindric from the playoffs. Chastain's efforts to secure the final spot were in vain after contact with Denny Hamlin on the last lap.
