West Brom gets defensive boost with Liverpool's Nat Phillips signing.
West Bromwich Albion Sign Nat Phillips from Liverpool
West Bromwich Albion have secured the services of defender Nat Phillips from Liverpool for an undisclosed fee. The 28-year-old, who made just 19 Premier League appearances for Liverpool in his nine-year spell, has signed a three-year contract with the Championship club.
Phillips boasts extensive experience in the second tier of English football, having previously played for Bournemouth, Cardiff City, and Derby County. He also has prior experience in Scotland with Celtic and Germany with Stuttgart.
West Brom's sporting director, Andrew Nestor, believes Phillips will add valuable experience to their backline that finished ninth in the previous season.
"Nat will bolster an already strong back line and brings leadership qualities," Nestor stated. "We believe he is entering his prime as a centre-back and hope to see him flourish with us."
Phillips expressed his desire to contribute to West Brom's promotion aspirations.
"I want to be part of a club that is pushing for Premier League football," he said. "I'm excited to settle and develop a connection with the fans and the club."
