New York Giants Shock Philadelphia with Cam Skattebo's 3 TDs

The Philadelphia Eagles' defense struggled to contain New York Giants rookie running back Cam Skattebo, who scored three touchdowns in the Giants' 34-17 victory on Thursday night.

Skattebo scored in the second, third, and fourth quarters, totaling 98 rushing yards out of the Giants' 172. He carried the ball 19 times, averaging 5.2 yards per carry.

The Eagles, the defending Super Bowl champions, came into the game with a 4-1 record, while the Giants were 1-4 and had rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart starting after benching veteran Russell Wilson following a winless start.

Dart faced an injury scare in the third quarter after a hit from Eagles linebacker Patrick Johnson. He was evaluated for a concussion but returned to the game after being cleared by medical staff. Dart finished with 195 passing yards, one passing touchdown, 58 rushing yards, and a rushing touchdown.

The Giants' victory over the Eagles was significant, given the scrutiny on coach Brian Daboll and general manager Joe Schoen. The win showcased a strong performance against a division rival they have historically struggled against.

The Giants capitalized on turnovers in the fourth quarter to secure the win. Cornerback Cor'Dale Flott intercepted Jalen Hurts, returning the ball 68 yards before being stopped by Saquon Barkley. Safety Dane Belton forced a fumble from AJ Dillon, which was recovered by cornerback Dru Phillips.

The Eagles were outplayed and outcoached by the Giants, resulting in their worst loss since 2023. Philadelphia, favored by 7.5 points, struggled in various aspects of the game, highlighting deficiencies in their play.

Despite their offensive inconsistencies, the Eagles had previously taken care of the ball this season. However, turnovers in crucial moments, including an interception by Hurts and a fumble by Dillon, contributed to their defeat.

The Eagles faced a worst-case scenario against the Giants, with defensive challenges compounded by injuries to key players. The loss raises questions about the team's defensive strategy and adjustments needed moving forward.
