Nike's WNBA star Caitlin Clark's Kobe Bryant sneaker sells out.

Caitlin Clark's personalized version of the Nike Kobe V Protro sneaker, featuring her name alongside Kobe Bryant's, was released on Monday morning and quickly sold out. Priced at $190, the shoe showcases colors representing Clark's team, the Indiana Fever.

The sneakers were launched online at 10 a.m. EDT, and Nike's initial stock sold out within minutes. The exact number of pairs sold and details about future releases are currently unknown.

Resale platforms like eBay already have the sneakers available, with prices exceeding $350 for a pair. Nike has not provided any comments regarding the release.

The Kobe V Protro features shades described by Nike as "Midnight Navy, Bright Crimson, vibrant hits of University Gold, and polished off with a high-gloss finish that glistens under the spotlight."

Jeff Staple, founder of STAPLE and Reed Art Department, noted that Clark's entry into the footwear industry signifies a new era for female athletes, allowing them to secure shoe deals based on their athletic abilities.

Caitlin Clark, a prominent figure in women's basketball, partnered with Kobe Bryant's name for her first shoe release, aiming to attract male customers and pave the way for future branded sneakers. Clark was recently named a captain for the upcoming WNBA All-Star Game alongside Napheesa Collier.
