Oscar Piastri Wins Rain-Delayed Belgian Grand Prix

At Spa-Francorchamps, rain caused an 80-minute delay for the 2025 Belgian Grand Prix due to poor visibility and wet conditions. Oscar Piastri made a decisive move on the first lap to secure his victory.

Piastri overtook Lando Norris on the Kemmel Straight after a rolling start following five laps behind the safety car. Piastri's strategy of choosing medium tires paid off, despite Norris opting for hard tires for better long-run consistency.

Despite some late-race challenges, Piastri held on to win the race, extending his lead in the Drivers’ Championship. Charles Leclerc defended his third-place position against Max Verstappen, securing his fourth podium in six races.

Lewis Hamilton started 18th but climbed through the grid to finish in the points. Alex Albon finished sixth for Williams, while his teammate Carlos Sainz struggled and finished 18th.

Both Verstappen and Hamilton criticized the delayed start, with Verstappen calling it a missed opportunity for better visibility and Hamilton expressing frustration at the prolonged delay.

With Piastri leading the championship and competitors striving to keep up, the battle continues with 11 rounds remaining. The next race is in Hungary.
