Outrage as Aussie Fans Boo US Anthem in Viral Video

Australian sports fans caused controversy during a WWE event in Perth by booing the US national anthem and chanting vulgar remarks about a wrestling star. The incident occurred at the Crown Jewel show in Perth, where singer Sophie Foster faced loud boos while performing the Star-Spangled Banner.

The crowd's behavior drew criticism online, with some Americans expressing disgust at the booing of the national anthem. The situation escalated when fans started chanting derogatory remarks about Japanese wrestler Asuka during an interview with Aussie WWE star Rhea Ripley.

The chant, repeatedly calling Asuka an offensive term, led to discomfort among commentators, who remarked that it was inappropriate for a family-friendly show. Ripley, trying to lighten the mood, humorously stated, 'This is my country, guys,' while some fans found the incident distasteful and lacking in class.

Despite the negative reactions, some Australians defended the chant as a colloquial term and part of Australian culture. Ripley and her partner Iyo Sky went on to win their match against Asuka and Kairi Sane at the Crown Jewel event.

After the event, Western Australian Premier Roger Cook condemned the booing of the US national anthem, emphasizing the importance of respecting other countries. Australian WWE star Grayson Waller attributed the booing to a trend of disrespecting the American anthem, stating that it was more meaningful for him to hear the Australian national anthem at the event.
