Outrage as Singer Serenades Trump Despite Inauguration Boycott
Italian singer Andrea Bocelli performed for Donald Trump in the Oval Office before his meeting with Volodymyr Zelensky on Friday. This event marked a contrast from 2017 when Bocelli reportedly did not attend Trump's first inauguration due to alleged death threats.
Trump's advisor, Margo Martin, mentioned that Trump was listening to one of Bocelli's songs when the singer entered. Bocelli sang along with his own song "Time to Say Goodbye" as the president watched.
After the performance, Bocelli posed for photos with Trump. Some critics, particularly liberals, disapproved of Bocelli's appearance with the president, suggesting it conflicted with his past humanitarian efforts.
Despite the criticism, Trump announced that Bocelli would perform at the White House on December 5. This announcement contrasts with rumors that Bocelli had withdrawn from performing at Trump's 2017 inauguration due to security concerns.
A source revealed that Bocelli had intended to sing at the inauguration but decided against it based on threats received by his security team. Bocelli, a renowned singer, has sold over 90 million records worldwide.
