Pastor calls out Candace Owens for spreading conspiracies about killing
Conservative podcaster and conspiracy theorist Candace Owens has been accused of spreading rumors about the death of Charlie Kirk, a conservative activist.
Charlie Kirk’s pastor criticized Candace Owens for spreading conspiracy theories following Kirk’s fatal shooting during a speaking engagement at Utah Valley University.
Rob McCoy, co-chair of the faith division of Kirk’s Turning Point USA, stated that Kirk never engaged in gossip about Owens and urged her to act as Kirk would have in a similar situation.
Owens suggested that Kirk may have been targeted due to his views on the war in Gaza, while also alleging that billionaire Bill Ackman threatened Kirk during a meeting in the Hamptons.
Both Ackman and Andrew Kolvet, the executive producer of The Charlie Kirk Show, have denied Owens’ accusations, with Ackman clarifying that he never threatened Kirk or attempted to influence his opinions.
While some conservative figures expressed sympathy for Kirk feeling pressured over his Israel criticism, others like Tucker Carlson criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for allegedly politicizing Kirk’s death.
Owens, known for previous controversial remarks, is facing a defamation lawsuit for spreading false claims about the French first lady, Brigitte Macron. Ackman has accused Owens of slandering him but has not indicated if he will pursue legal action.
