Paul Pelosi's Daughter Donates Kidney
The husband of former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Paul Pelosi, recently underwent a successful kidney transplant, with his daughter Jacqueline, 53, donating the organ. The 84-year-old investment banker was discharged from USCF in San Francisco following the surgery on Friday. Blood relatives are often the most suitable organ donors due to shared genetic material, as noted by the National Kidney Foundation.
Paul Pelosi expressed gratitude towards his daughter and the medical team at UCSF for their care. He mentioned that both he and Jacqueline are now on the path to recovery under the supervision of Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi.
Last month, Nancy Pelosi revealed that her husband continues to face medical issues stemming from a violent attack in October 2022, where an intruder assaulted him in their San Francisco home. The attacker, David DePape, inflicted severe injuries on Paul Pelosi, resulting in a fractured skull and extensive damage to his left hand, requiring multiple surgeries.
DePape, who was sentenced to 30 years in prison in May last year, admitted during the trial that he was influenced by conservative conspiracy theories propagated by MAGA-aligned podcasters on YouTube. Despite his actions, DePape clarified that Paul Pelosi was not his intended target and expressed remorse for the attack.
