'Peacemaker' Season 2: Release Schedule and Viewing Guide

John Cena reprised his role as Chris Smith, also known as Peacemaker, in Season 2 of the series bearing the same name. The season premiere was described as entertaining and action-packed, setting the stage for future developments.

Based on the character from James Gunn's 2021 film "The Suicide Squad," the series follows Peacemaker's adventures, a character who values peace above all else, even if it means resorting to violence, as per HBO.

In Season 2, Peacemaker finds himself in an alternate world that fulfills his desires but also forces him to confront his past and shape his own future.

During a panel at Comic-Con, Cena mentioned that Peacemaker is going through a challenging phase and is exploring new possibilities, which he believes many can relate to.

All eight episodes of Season 2 were written by Gunn, who also directed three episodes, including the season opener. "Peacemaker" is the first original DC show to debut on HBO Max, according to HBO Max Head of Original Content Sarah Aubrey.

Gunn highlighted at Comic-Con that Season 2 is more intense than the first, emphasizing that it is not suitable for children. The first episode includes a very explicit scene that surprised actor Steve Agee.

New episodes of "Peacemaker" Season 2 are released on HBO Max every Thursday at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT, with the next episode scheduled for August 28. The season premiered on August 21 and will consist of eight episodes, concluding on October 9.
