An underwater photographer described spotting a rare sea slug in UK waters near Old Harry Rocks in Studland Bay as "absolutely incredible."

Maria Munn from Swanage, Dorset, who volunteers with Seasearch, captured the Warty Doris earlier this month. The slug is typically found in waters off France, Belgium, Spain, the Mediterranean, Adriatic, and west Atlantic.

Ms. Munn's discovery of the Warty Doris, known for the warts on its body, was confirmed by Seasearch and Dorset Wildlife Trust. She noted that the species is usually found in warmer waters, suggesting it could be an indicator of climate change.

The brightly colored Warty Doris, ranging from 30mm to 70mm in length, breathes through its bottom. Ms. Munn also photographed the slug's eggcase used for protecting their eggs.

Ms. Munn, who fell in love with the ocean during her recovery from car accidents, explores Dorset's coastline daily. She shares her discoveries through blogging to inspire others to explore and appreciate the local marine life's beauty and colors.
