Players ejected as benches clear in Giants-Rockies game post-Devers homer.

DENVER — Rafael Devers hit a home run in the first inning at Coors Field on Tuesday night, causing a benches-clearing incident between the San Francisco Giants and Colorado Rockies. The incident led to three ejections and added some excitement to the penultimate game in their season series.

The altercation started when Devers hit a two-run home run and lingered too long to admire it, which upset Rockies pitcher Kyle Freeland. This led to a heated exchange between the two teams, with more shoving than punching. Umpires intervened, and Freeland, Willy Adames, and Matt Chapman were ejected.

After the chaos settled, the Giants had to adjust their lineup due to the ejections. Devers made his Giants debut as a third baseman, a position he hadn't played all season. This lineup change forced other players to shift positions as well.

The Giants faced challenges with the lineup adjustments, especially with an injured player being put into the field. The Rockies brought in Antonio Senzatela to replace Freeland on the mound. Before the game, Devers was named co-NL Player of the Week for his recent performance.
