Reed Sheppard Organizes Back-to-School Shopping for Houston Youth

On Tuesday evening, Reed Sheppard, a second-year guard for the Houston Rockets, organized a back-to-school shopping event for at-risk youth who are part of a basketball program at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston.

The event took place at DICK’s House of Sport in Katy, a suburb of Houston, where Sheppard assisted the children in selecting gear and sporting goods for the upcoming school year.

Sheppard, now 21 years old, is preparing for an increased role in his second NBA season. He was drafted third overall in the 2024 first round from Kentucky but had limited playing time in his rookie year with the Houston Rockets, who had the second-best record (52-30) in the Western Conference.

In a recent community initiative, the Sheppard Family Foundation, led by Reed Sheppard, supported his hometown of London, Kentucky, which was affected by a deadly tornado outbreak in May. The foundation collaborated with local organizations to offer free hot meals to the community and distribute backpacks filled with food items for children.
