Scarlets' Tomi Lewis inks new contract
Wing Tomi Lewis has signed a new contract with Scarlets. Lewis, 26, recently returned to the team after recovering from an Achilles injury that had kept him out since June 2024. He originally came through the Scarlets' academy and rejoined the team in 2023 after playing for Jersey Reds. Lewis, a former Wales Under-20s and Wales Sevens player, has appeared in 18 senior matches for Scarlets.
Lewis expressed his happiness about the new two-year contract, stating his focus is now on getting a consistent run of games for the remainder of the season, especially with important matches approaching. The renewal of Lewis' contract follows Macs Page, another academy product, signing his first professional contract with Scarlets.
Scarlets' head coach Dwayne Peel praised Lewis for his exceptional speed and ability to trouble opposing defenses. Peel also mentioned that Lewis would have been considered for a spot on the Wales tour last summer if not for his Achilles injury in the previous season's final game.
