Star New York Yankees Player Considers Leaving After Postseason Defeat

New York Yankees outfielder Cody Bellinger is set to explore free agency, as reported by ESPN. Bellinger, who had a successful season with the Yankees, expressed his enjoyment of playing in New York and his openness to returning to the team.

The 30-year-old player, who formed a close bond with Yankees' star Aaron Judge during their time together, will assess his market value before making a decision about his future with the team. Judge has publicly expressed his desire for Bellinger and fellow outfielder Trent Grisham to stay with the Yankees after the team's elimination in the ALDS against the Toronto Blue Jays.

Bellinger had a strong season with the Yankees, finishing with a batting average of .272 and hitting 29 home runs in 152 games. He also made significant contributions defensively in left field. Acquired from the Chicago Cubs in a trade, Bellinger proved to be a valuable asset for the team, ranking as the second-best player behind Judge according to advanced metrics.

Despite his regular-season success, Bellinger's performance in the postseason was less impressive. He struggled at the plate, managing only six hits in 28 at-bats during the ALDS against the Blue Jays. His lone home run in Game 2 was overshadowed by the team's defeat, leading to the Yankees' failure to defend their American League championship title.
